Joan Miller Sinrich, Licensed Massage Therapist since 2003, moved her practice to a canopy of trees in Atlanta from a cozy blanket of fog in San Francisco.

She offers a strong, grounded, and nurturing touch, integrating Swedish Massage techniques. She specializes in relaxation, stress reduction and pain management massage. Sometimes people believe that massage has to hurt in order to be effective, but that isn't true. Joan has been trained in Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release and Trigger Point Massage. Her focus is to sink into the muscle rather than pick a fight with the muscle, so that it is less likely her client will feel sore the next day.

 

Don’t worry about ordering a specific type of massage. Joan believes in combining modalities to best suit the needs of her client.

 

Primary specialties include Swedish, Prenatal and Hot Stone Massage. Integrated knowledge of Shiatsu, Thai, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Trigger Point, Lymph. Most people don't know the modalities they prefer, but they know they want to feel better and different than they felt when they arrived.

 

Chair Massage is available onsite and may be part of the treatment. Intown Massage does not offer outcall options for chair or table massage. All of the work will be done on site at the home studio.

About the Location

Joan loves her Intown Atlanta Cabbagetown home studio near Grant Park, Glenwood, East Atlanta, Ormewood, Reynoldstown, Inman and Candler Park - basically all the intown parks. There are 12 steps to climb on the way into the 1920 bungalow.

 

Joan will greet you at the door, just knock when you arrive. It's okay to arrive right on time or ten minutes early - preferably not much earlier as there is not extra staff or spa like waiting rooms. It's a personal space but with appropriate and professional boundaries. There will be time to fill out the intake form before your first appointment and it will not cut into your time on the table. You are welcome to fill out the intake form and print it out before arrival of course. Please allow an additional 15-30 minutes beyond your booked time so you won't feel rushed on or off the table.

In over 20 years of working from her home studio, all of her allergy prone clients have survived with no adverse reaction --  to her home studio or the cat Gizaboo. The cat is not allowed in the studio anyway. Mostly hardwood floors, HEPA filters, and a scent sensitive approach abound. Appropriate procedures are always in place to ensure safety and cleanliness.
